When I first became a homeowner, I quickly realized just how daunting it was to find chique, decorative art that didn't feel overbearing. It seemed like too many options had clear themes and messages when what I really wanted was the ability to tell my own story. Thus, art for my space brought forth the idea of "Art for Your Space".
My goal is to combine my passion for creativity with my desire to help others express themselves through their decor. Simplistic Designs by Catherine creates abstract paintings and photography that will take your space and make it uniquely yours.

In 2012, I was honored with a National Gold Art Award by The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. Since then, I have continued my passion for creativity in various forms like writing and painting. The paintings and photos presented here are my way to bring expression and cohesiveness to your space.

My name is Catherine and I would love to introduce your space to my art. I provide abstract art and photography that are carefully designed to let your home or office's personality shine without many distractions.
Photography was the first artform that I passionately pursued, and the photos I now create seek to blend and balance black and white tones in a simple, yet pleasing way. Each piece's contrast will provide the perfect background to any living and working space.
Abstract paintings are a bit of a paradox in that they allow the object of focus to remain just out of reach as it melts into the background. My inspiration for these paintings is and always has been nature. Abstract designs allow people to acheive a feeling of natural wonder whenever they see the sunrise reflecting on a river or a cloud saturated with dazzling darkness in a thunderstorm.
